So they’re building up everything from scratch, in a sport where the operating budget runs to $215 million a year in 2026. They have to build the capex beyond that for facilities, personnel, etc and that takes time. On the plus side for them 2026 is a rule change for every team – we’re back to flat floors, active aero on the front wing is new for everyone etc. But most teams have people around who remember how a lot of the “old” stuff worked.
