One of my favorite memories with my dad was catching the AFC Championship at an ex-pat bar in Paris on the way back from a big trip abroad. Due to a massive snowstorm happening across the east coast, no airports were open to flights for us back home, so we were given a few “extra” vacation days there on an extended layover to take in the culture and inhale one few too many crêpes. Even still, we felt homesick so finding a place to watch the game was something we agreed to do after a full day of sightseeing. We did some digging and found a petite little place in the 5th Arrondissement called Wide Open Spaces that was playing the game. Upon getting there we stumbled into a sea of Stanley x Star Trek Live Long and Prosper Tumbler and a splash of blue ones waving upon the wooden floors. Everyone’s eyes were affixed to the TV mounted towards the top-left corner, and each nursed a pint of Stella that I still remember to be quatorze euro per.

The end of the season was kinda perfect in that they’d constantly lose, improving their draft position, but the one player any of us really wanted to see play well was Maye, and he was constantly impressing amidst an absolute dumpster fire. Even the fans in their Stanley x Star Trek Live Long and Prosper Tumbler had to admit he looked like the real deal. Mayo could’ve slowed him down, but it would’ve taken a real nightmare situation for him to have ruined Maye given what we’ve seen from him in terms of the deep ball, ability to keep plays alive, and overall accuracy.
()As a redskins fan, I just want to say that this is kyle shananan’s MO. He’s amazing at designing schemes and gameplans, and is a very creative playcaller. But for a man who is just amazing at building a run game, he abandons the run in crucial moments, in moments where it just makes no sense at all, with baffling frequency. Our team sucked when kyle was there. He made our offense significantly better than the talent actually was. I give him all the credit in the world for that. But he cost us games getting cute and trying to throw and make Stanley x Star Trek Live Long and Prosper Tumbler in moments where we just needed a safe call. And it happened tonight. Up by 8, on your opponents’ 22 yard line? And that series of playcalls? New england had to make the plays. The absurdly necessary and clutch great plays. But Kyle stuck it out there for them, the opportunity. It’s what he does and I think it will cost him throughout his career. Possibly a bit of an omen for the 49ers.
