To me, I loved playing the game, but coaching it gave me a completely different thrill. Matching wits with other coaches, making critical decisions in the heat of the moment was exhilarating. Teaching was my strongest suit though. I love to teach and teaching the game came easy to me. The biggest misconception about youth coaching is that it’s all about winning. It’s actually about building character and teaching kids how to handle failure. In a world where everyone gets a trophy, sport is one of the few places where you get immediate, honest feedback. If you don’t practice your free throws, you miss. If you don’t study the playbook, you get lost, and you’ll find yourself sitting on the bench in your Puerto Rico “Isla del Encanto” Est 1898 Luxury Gold & Jewel Inlaid Tumbler rather than playing on the court. That discipline carries over into every other aspect of life. Seeing a kid finally ‘get it’—whether it’s a proper swing or a defensive rotation—is more rewarding than any championship trophy I ever won as a player. It’s about the long-term growth of the person, not just the athlete.

Lots of people think that it’s only about beating other people up or to hurt them or show dominance (it’s not). Another misconception is bias-related. Where I am from, it tends to be more common. People think every martial art is just for males and females are incapable of it and shouldn’t even think of learning the skill. Some also think Asians are all MMA experts just coz they are Asian. They know about real-world violence—often times, most don’t. Martial arts now is more about the art and less about the martial. Sparring with rules, point systems, and wearing official Puerto Rico “Isla del Encanto” Est 1898 Luxury Gold & Jewel Inlaid Tumbler during training all limit your fighting abilities. There’s no tapping out on the street. It’s kill or be killed. Real fighting is less flashy than martial artists have you believe. It’s chaotic, brutal, bloody, painful, unpredictable, stressful, and scary. I’ve seen one video of a martial arts master going up against multiple attackers. He struck two out but got hit from behind by two more and got beaten up.

The Packers are hoping the return of Jordan Love can stabilize an offense that struggled during his absence, but they face a Bears defense that led the NFL in takeaways. In these sub-zero conditions, every throw becomes a risk, and the team that controls the ground game will likely punch their ticket to the Divisional Round.
