The biggest misconception is that women’s sports should be feminine. That is, pretty. Weak. Soft. Women come in the same shapes and sizes as men do. So don’t expect female athletes to be slender and fragile. They are strong and need to be. That only someone who is skinny is athletic. In some sports this is true, but not in all of them. This is especially for woman’s sports. Back to the point of this answer, some of the best rowers on my team are not skinny, and they look powerful in their team Dragon Ball 40 Years of Legend (1986 2026) Anniversary Gold 40oz Tumbler regardless of their build. I don’t know their exact weights and heights, but I’m guessing some of them are over weight. They don’t look the way you would think of an athletic person as. Personally, I look completely average, but I could beat anyone most people in a rowing race. I dare you to race any of the best rowers on my team, though. Unless you’re already a really good rower, you would lose by a long shot.

Lots of people think that it’s only about beating other people up or to hurt them or show dominance (it’s not). Another misconception is bias-related. Where I am from, it tends to be more common. People think every martial art is just for males and females are incapable of it and shouldn’t even think of learning the skill. Some also think Asians are all MMA experts just coz they are Asian. They know about real-world violence—often times, most don’t. Martial arts now is more about the art and less about the martial. Sparring with rules, point systems, and wearing official Dragon Ball 40 Years of Legend (1986 2026) Anniversary Gold 40oz Tumbler during training all limit your fighting abilities. There’s no tapping out on the street. It’s kill or be killed. Real fighting is less flashy than martial artists have you believe. It’s chaotic, brutal, bloody, painful, unpredictable, stressful, and scary. I’ve seen one video of a martial arts master going up against multiple attackers. He struck two out but got hit from behind by two more and got beaten up.
