I had a phase in my life when I couldn’t get enough of volleyball and everything around it: meeting the team mates in the locker room, the mere smell of a volleyball, what the ball felt like in my palms and fingertips. The rush of adrenaline when you step onto the court is unlike anything else. I played competitive volleyball from age 16 to 54 when I blew out my knee. Basketball was another passion from age 8 until about age 45, but I still enjoy shooting around and impressing my grandchildren. I was able to play 3 years in high school, 4 years in college, for the US Army, and even played semi-pro in Europe for a short time.
